Gem-PL Pigmentation Treatment
Hyperpigmentation is due to excess Melanin production causing uneven skin colour, freckles and age spots. The main cause of this is due to skin damage. The face, hands and chest are the first parts of the body to show signs of ageing because they receive so much sun exposure.
However pigmentation can also be aggravated by other factors including hormones such as pregnancy or contraceptive pill, certain medications and also inflammation following trauma or troublesome acne lesions.
How does it work:
At Pure Skin we use the Gem-Pl system to release light pulses which are readily absorbed by the high concentration of melanin found within the hyper-pigmented areas. This light energy heats the melanin, thereby destroying the melanin rich cells.
The darker the areas targeted thus sparing the surrounding areas. The pigmented area may appear darker before it gets better. It will either break up and get absorbed by the body or it may crust and lift off.
As the Gem-Pl has a rejuvenating effect it will leave you with a plumper, healthier even skin tone.
